Terms and Conditions for Autism Family Training Service
These Terms and Conditions apply to the Autism Family Training Service offered by Resources for Autism. This service includes an initial assessment, a bespoke advice and training session for parents/carers and other family members, and provision of tools and resources.
Service Description
The Autism Family Training Service is designed to provide tailored guidance and practical strategies to support families in understanding and responding to the needs of an autistic child. It is educational and supportive in nature and does not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, therapy, legal counsel, or social work intervention.
Scope of Service
This service is intended to help families develop inclusive and understanding approaches to support their autistic child. Recommendations are based on the information provided by the family and may not cover all circumstances. The service is not a crisis intervention and should not be used as a substitute for professional healthcare or legal services.
Family Responsibility
Implementation of advice and strategies provided during the session is the responsibility of the family. Resources for Autism cannot guarantee specific outcomes and accepts no liability for decisions made or actions taken based on the content of these sessions.
Eligibility and Accessibility
This service is available to families of autistic individuals. Other family members such as grandparents or carers may attend the bespoke session with prior agreement. We aim to accommodate accessibility needs where possible. Please contact us in advance to discuss any specific requirements.
Booking and Payment Terms
Full payment must be made in advance to confirm the use of the service. Pricing is subject to change and will be communicated via our website or booking platform.
Refunds and Cancellations
- Cancellations must be made at least 5 working days before the scheduled assessment to receive a refund or reschedule.
- Cancellations after this timeframe or failure to attend will not be eligible for a refund.
- If the assessment has been completed and the family cancels before the advice session, partial refunds are not available.
- If Resources for Autism cancels and no suitable alternative date can be arranged, you will receive a full refund.
- Once a session has been delivered, refunds are not available unless the service was not provided as described or did not meet ‘reasonable’ standards. Not delivering to ‘reasonable’ standards is open to interpretation so will therefore need to be clearly outlined and demonstrated. This will then be reviewed and considered before any refunds are processed.
Confidentiality and Privacy
Sessions are confidential and intended only for the individual/family who have booked the session. You are required to share with RfA before delivery who will be attending the session. Session invites must not be forwarded to others outside of the pre-shared people without prior approval. If an invite is shared, you must notify Resources for Autism with details. Attendance by third parties such as teachers, social workers, legal representatives, or healthcare professionals generally is not permitted; if you would like a professional to attend you must speak to RfA. Sessions must not be recorded by any party.
Safeguarding and Duty of Care
Any safeguarding concerns identified during the assessment or session will be handled in accordance with our safeguarding policy and may be reported to appropriate authorities if necessary.
Data Protection and GDPR
We comply with all relevant data protection laws, including GDPR. Personal information collected during booking and sessions will be stored securely and used only for service delivery and improvement. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for more details.
Staff Availability
While we aim to ensure consistency in service delivery, there may be occasions when the originally assigned autism expert becomes unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, a suitable professional from the RfA team will facilitate the session. RfA reserves the right to change the assigned autism expert at short notice. If RfA must cancel a session due to staff unavailability or other unforeseen events, you will be contacted as soon as possible and offered alternative dates to reschedule the appointment. In the rare event that no suitable alternative date can be found, you will be entitled to a full refund.
Rescheduling Policy
Rescheduling is permitted if requested at least 5 working days before the scheduled session. Each session may only be rescheduled once. Missed sessions without prior notice will not be refunded.
Technical Requirements
If sessions are delivered online, participants must ensure they have a stable internet connection and access to a device with a working camera and microphone. Our recommendation and preference is that cameras must be turned on during the session. If this presents an issue for the participant it must be communicated to Resources for Autism before the session. Sessions must take place in a private, quiet location—public places are not permitted. If these conditions are not met, Resources for Autism reserves the right to cancel the session without refund.
Termination of Service
Resources for Autism reserves the right to refuse or terminate service if these terms are violated. Refund eligibility in such cases will be determined at our discretion.
Unacceptable Behaviour
Abuse, aggression, or inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated. Any such behaviour may result in immediate termination of the session and refusal of future service.
Intellectual Property
Any materials or resources shared during sessions remain the intellectual property of Resources for Autism and may not be reproduced or distributed without permission.
Liability Disclaimer
Resources for Autism is not liable for decisions made based on advice given during sessions. We do not accept responsibility for any outcomes resulting from the use of our services.
Complaints and Feedback
If you wish to provide feedback about the service, please contact us via our contact us page. We aim to respond and resolve these promptly and fairly, as per our complaints policy.
Force Majeure
Resources for Autism is not liable for delays or cancellations due to events beyond our control, including but not limited to natural disasters, internet outages, or platform failures.
