“Helped me manage it better to see I’m not alone.”
– BSOL Branching Minds participant
BSOL Branching Minds, RfA is a one-year mental health and wellbeing programme launched in April 2025 and delivered until March 26 as part of the Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Learning Disability and Autism Provider Collaborative. We’re here to support you — whether you’re autistic, caring for someone autistic or working in NHS services — and to break the barriers autistic people face when trying to access health support. Our sessions are inclusive, accessible and focus on giving individuals practical tools to aid positive wellbeing, access and equity.
- Mental Health and Wellbeing Programme for autistic individuals (aged 18+)
Running for 12 weeks, you’ll explore wellbeing and learn strategies to support your mental health and build connections with like‑minded peers. Located in Birmingham and Solihull until December 2025. If you’re interested, please contact kam@resourcesforautism.org.uk
- Mental Health and Wellbeing Sessions for Parent/Carer
Offering four sessions across the year, our final Session 4 will look at what good health care and support looks like whilst maintaining your wellbeing and that of your child, young person or autistic adult. It offers a space to share, connect and feel supported among peers.
Birmingham – Wednesday 19th November at 12.00 – 2pm
Solihull – Thursday 4th December at 10am – 12.00
Online – Tuesday 25th November at 10.30am-12.30 & 5.30pm-7.30pm

- Training and Support for Health and RfA Staff
To enhance understanding of the autistic patient experience, the team has developed a training programme tailored for NHS professionals (both clinical and non-clinical). This initiative focuses on practical strategies to improve care at key points of access. Additionally, the programme supports the ongoing development of Mental Health First Aid awareness and practices among RfA staff, empowering them to better assist service users.
