“Your input has been the most positive and productive impact on Toby’s life he’s ever had. Thank you.” (Parent feedback – 2025)

EOTAS, or Education Other Than At School, provides personalised learning for children and young people who are unable to attend a mainstream or specialist education setting. Through EOTAS, every child is given the opportunity to learn in a way that feels safe, supportive, and right for them.

Our EOTAS package is designed to support a child or young person in gradually transitioning to an educational setting at a pace that suits them. We aim to foster independence and ensure each child is well-prepared not only for their transition into education but also for future opportunities. We currently offer EOTAS in London and the West Midlands.

RFA provides a personalised educational experience tailored to each child’s unique needs, ensuring they receive the academic and emotional support necessary to thrive. Our approach is collaborative, involving the following:

  • Parents and caregivers
  • Resources For Autism (RFA) specialist staff with extensive autism training and experience
  • Resources For Autism SEN/ASC specialist teacher
  • Additional therapists, such as Speech and Language Therapists (SaLT) and Occupational Therapists (OT), where applicable
  • The Local Authority and any other relevant professionals in the network.

When is EOTAS needed?

  • Unmanageable anxiety linked to or exacerbated by school.
  • Child is refusing / unable to attend school often due to the above.
  • Unable to cope with the overwhelming sensory input at school i.e. lights, crowds, noise.
  • They have experienced school based trauma i.e. bullying.
  • School placement breakdown i.e. exclusion or the school cannot meet their needs.
  • Lack of suitable school places available that can meet the child’s EHCP requirements.
